Vegas

So you can go to Vegas and spend $10,000 in a weekend, or you can spend $500. So here’s a trip I just did and ended up closer to the $500 side-but did it right.

Flight: Frontier (through my hopper app): $189 non-stop, round trip from Tampa to Vegas

Hotel: Harrah’s-great location and booked through hotels.com, divided by 4 people $484 for 3 nights

Day 1: Rented a car for a day trip to Red Rock Canyon and Valley of Fire: $70 total, divided by 4 people-car (only for one day, gas, park entries).

Food: The most we spent was a splurge at Caesar’s buffet for brunch. But we found a deal on Groupon for $44 each that included two mimosas. Other than that, we had a bunch of pizza, and regularly priced meals, maybe on average $40/day.

Entertainment: Get with people! I had a girl I knew get me and my friends tickets to the Michael Jackson tribute show. I met a promoter that got us all into a club for free. Other than that we splurged and HAD to see Celine Dion. Worth every penny of the $135 ticket. We wandered around a lot! Through casinos and up and down the strip. Many things are free: Belliago fountain show, many hotels have themed gardens in their lobbies. Also, we purchased liquor at the liquor store and because you can walk around freely with drinks we’d just use what we bought instead of paying $10-$20 per drink on the strip. Plus you do get free drinks if you’re gambling.

Other fun recommendations: checking out Fremont Street (the old Vegas), zip-lining in either Fremont or off the strip, the roller coaster in New York , New York,
